Chapter 01 · Mercury: the whole Google account

Google Ads agency

Search, Shopping, Performance Max, YouTube, Demand Gen and remarketing all live in the same account and compete for the same budget. If nobody gives each campaign its own job, they get in each other's way. Performance Max claims your brand sales, and the search campaign pays for clicks you'd have had for free. As a Google Ads agency, we run the whole account, tell Google which conversions are worth money and show you every month what each campaign sold.

Mission profile

Which businesses it suits (and which it doesn't)

We work with online shops that have their catalogue in Merchant Center, service and B2B businesses that sell through quotes or calls, and businesses whose account already has some history and seems to spend more than it returns. The typical problems are campaigns with no structure, a return that goes up and down with no explanation and conversions that don't match sales.

We ask for revenue from €100,000 a year and Google ad spend from €500/month. If your revenue is still below that, start with a consultation with our CEO.

We're not a fit if:

  • You only need to capture searches for one or two services. Our search engine marketing (SEM) is enough, with fewer moving parts.
  • You want a promised return before we start. Nobody can calculate it without your data.
  • You sell mainly on Amazon or other marketplaces. We don't run Amazon Ads.

Instruments

What our Google Ads agency does in your account

Account audit, in the first month

We review the structure, the search terms you're paying for, what Google counts as a conversion, the Merchant Center feed and the overlaps between campaigns. You get a document with what stays, what gets rebuilt and in what order.

Each campaign type with its own job

  • Search: searches with intent to buy or hire, with negative keywords and brand kept separate.
  • Shopping and Performance Max: the catalogue, kept apart from brand searches. If your business is a shop, we combine it with the other channels through our ecommerce marketing agency.
  • YouTube and Demand Gen: video and image ads so that people who aren't searching for you yet get to know you.
  • Remarketing: ads for people who visited your website and didn't buy.

A Merchant Center feed with no errors

We fix titles, attributes, prices and availability, review disapproved products and group the catalogue by margin, so you don't bid the same on a product that leaves you very little as on one that leaves you a lot.

Conversions that are worth money

Automated campaigns optimise towards whatever you tell them counts as a conversion. If any form counts, they'll bring you forms, whether they're any good or not. That's why we import your CRM conversions (qualified lead, opportunity, sale) into Google Ads, track calls and, for shops, set up GA4 ecommerce with consent mode. When the case calls for it, we set up server-side tracking. If you're comparing Google Ads agencies, ask each one which conversion it optimises towards.

Every week and every month

Every week we review search terms, bids, budgets and the feed. Every month you get a report with the spend, the sales or leads from each campaign and the planned changes, and we decide with you what grows and what gets cut.

Flight plan

How we work on an existing account

  1. Free audit in 7 days. Without asking for access to your account, we come back with what we'd change first, what we'd leave as it is, what it would cost and what's reasonable to expect. If you want a full audit of the account, that's quoted separately.
  2. Audit and restructuring in phases. Measurement first, because without reliable conversions every change is judged blind. Then campaign by campaign, reading the effect of each change.
  3. Weekly adjustments and monthly decisions. Data arrives within days. It takes 2 to 3 months for the cost per sale to stabilise, which is how long automated campaigns need to build up conversions and how long it takes us to cut what doesn't sell.

Mission log

Three accounts with published figures

Client What it is Campaigns Published figures
Deduce Data Solutions Industrial AI with high-ticket B2B sales (PCTCAN, Santander) Search campaigns on active search and dedicated landing pages ROI x13.87; conversion +30%
Espacio Kernel Coworking space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife Google Ads aimed at calls and Google Maps, alongside a website redesigned with on-page SEO +97 leads; permanent occupancy +100%
Kokoro Records Music production company in Tenerife, single “Somos Canarias” Low-cost YouTube Ads in Latin America and geotargeted campaigns in the Canary Islands, alongside an influencer over 200,000 YouTube views; over 100,000 plays in the first week; +110% followers

Deduce Data Solutions. In high-ticket B2B sales we start with searches that show intent and add other campaign types only when the data calls for it.

Espacio Kernel. The conversion we were after was the phone call. The figures are for the full project, which included the website redesigned with on-page SEO, work we explain on our SEO service page.

Kokoro Records. YouTube is also bought through Google Ads, and here the spend was split by geography. In a music launch, plays are the goal, so in this case they are the figure that matters.

Who runs your Google Ads account

At BlueGrow, Google Ads is run by a specialist in that channel. They do the audit, make the changes and tell you in the monthly review what each campaign sold.

Frequently asked questions about Google Ads management

Won't Performance Max eat into my brand searches?

It can if nobody keeps it in check. That's why we keep Performance Max and Shopping apart from brand searches, exclude your brand where the platform allows it and read brand sales and new-customer sales separately. That way you know whether Performance Max brings in new sales or takes credit for the ones you already had.

My sales cycle is three months. How will we know if Google Ads is working?

Through the stages in between, while the sale matures. We import the lead, the qualified lead and the opportunity from your CRM, and optimise campaigns towards the stages closest to the sale. Cost per customer can be read once the first deals close; until then, we give you the timeline straight.

Is the Google Ads account mine?

Yes. The account is in your name and the ad spend is paid to Google from it; we work in it with the access you give us. If we ever stop working together, you remove that access, and the account, the campaigns and all their history are still yours.

Do you have to rebuild my account from scratch?

It depends on what the audit shows. What works is kept, because its history helps the automated campaigns. What doesn't is rebuilt in phases, measuring each change. In the free audit we already tell you which part of your account we'd keep.

Do you charge a percentage of what I spend?

No. We charge a monthly fee per channel, from €750/month. The ad spend we manage can move it in bands, when the account needs more work, but within each band we don't earn more because you spend more. A percentage would reward you spending more even if you didn't sell more. You pay the ad spend to Google, and it never passes through our hands.
