Chapter 03 · Earth at night: the lights are the customers you already have

Email marketing agency

We're an email marketing agency for online shops and businesses that sell online. We build the flows in Klaviyo or Brevo that recover carts, sell the second order and win back people who have stopped buying. Every month we show you how much revenue email brought in and from which flows.

If you sell with ads, every visitor who leaves without buying is one you've already paid for. Email talks to that person again without paying for the click twice, and sells again to people who have already bought, with no acquisition cost. At our ecommerce marketing agency, email works alongside ads, CRO and measurement.

Mission profile

Who it's for (and when it's too early)

For online shops with traffic and repeat customers, and for service businesses that sell or take bookings online. To get started, you need a list of at least 1,000 contacts who signed up to it themselves.

The usual picture: carts nobody recovers, few repeat purchases or a list that gets the same email with no segmentation. With fewer than 1,000 contacts, you need to grow the list before you automate. And a bought list is no use: without consent, the emails end up in spam and you risk a fine.

The email automation flows we build in the first month

First, the technical side: we connect your shop (Shopify or WooCommerce) to Klaviyo or Brevo, authenticate your domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC so Gmail and Outlook trust your sends, and add sign-up forms. Then, the flows:

  • Welcome. Introduces the brand and gives people a reason to place their first order.
  • Abandoned cart. Emails people who reached the cart and didn't pay. It follows the approach in our guide to saving abandoned carts.
  • Browse abandonment. Reminds people about products they looked at without adding them to the cart.
  • Post-purchase. Confirms the order, explains how to use the product, asks for a review and suggests what to buy next.
  • Repeat purchase. Goes out when the product usually runs out, based on how long your customers take to reorder.
  • Win-back. Tries to bring back people who haven't bought or opened in a while, and stops emailing those who don't respond.

Instruments

What our email marketing agency does every month

  • Campaigns built around your sales calendar and your stock.
  • Behavioural segments: one-time buyers, repeat buyers, highest-value customers and subscribers who haven't bought yet.
  • Tests of subject line, offer and send time, one variable at a time.
  • Deliverability: bounces, spam complaints and list cleaning.
  • A report with revenue from flows and campaigns, repeat purchases and unsubscribes, and what we're changing next.

How we read the revenue email brings in

Klaviyo and Brevo claim the sales made in the days after someone opens or clicks an email, even if that customer was going to buy anyway. It's the same problem as the Meta return that never shows up in your bank account. That's why we compare what the tool says with your shop's orders and with repeat purchases, and tell you how much it's reasonable to attribute to email.

Flight plan

From audit to monthly routine

  1. Audit within 7 days. Which flows you're missing, which to build first, what it would cost and what revenue it's sensible to expect.
  2. Setup. Integration, domain, forms and core flows, which you review and approve before they go live.
  3. Routine. Every week, campaigns and a flow review; every month, a report and decisions with you.

The basic flows start bringing in revenue within the first few weeks, because they work on the traffic you already have. The complete setup, with segments and repeat purchases fine-tuned, takes 2 to 3 months.

Email marketing pricing

From €400/month

  • What drives the price: the size of your list, how many flows need building and how many segments and campaigns we run each month.
  • To get started: a list of 1,000 contacts.

Setup is a one-off payment (€800) and the Klaviyo or Brevo licence is extra. Prices exclude VAT, as we invoice from the Canary Islands; Canary Islands businesses add IGIC. The final figure comes out of the audit, once we've seen your list and your flows. If you combine it with ads or CRO, the fees add up; they're all on our pricing page.

Dcervezas and Nutritime: email within full projects

Dcervezas: cart recovery in a rebuilt shop

Dcervezas sells craft beer online. We did four things: moved the shop from PrestaShop to WordPress, created sales pages for the flagship products, wrote the copy and automated abandoned cart recovery. With everything in place, conversion rose by 130%, B2B grew by 25% and memberships by 80%.

Nutritime: from in-person consultations to selling online

Nutritime offers nutrition coaching and until then worked 100% in person. We built a one-page website, sales pages, a payment gateway, automated booking, abandoned cart recovery and an email sequence, plus Facebook Ads campaigns for cold and warm audiences. In 2 weeks and with minimal ad spend, 6 new recurring clients came in; conversion rose by 4% and ROAS was x4.5.

In both cases, the figures are for the full project and email was set up at the same time as the sales pages. A cart flow can't rescue a product page that doesn't convince; that's why it often goes hand in hand with conversion rate optimisation (CRO).

Mission control

Who runs your email marketing

Email is handled by the same person who looks after SEO and the website at BlueGrow. That helps when the problem is on the product page, in the checkout or in the sign-up form. You get a reply within 24 hours from the same person who builds your flows.

Before lift-off

Frequently asked questions about email marketing

Klaviyo or Brevo?

It depends on your shop and your list. Klaviyo integrates deeply with Shopify and segments in detail by purchase behaviour. Brevo charges by sending volume and usually works out cheaper for large lists that receive few emails. If you already use one, it's almost always worth tidying it up before migrating.

My list barely opens my emails. Is it worth anything?

Yes, if it's cleaned and segmented first. We separate people who open and buy from people who haven't opened in months, try to win back the inactive ones and stop emailing those who don't respond, which is what hurts deliverability most. If there's not much list left, you need more sign-ups, and we'll tell you.

Who writes and designs the emails?

We do: copy, template and the build of each flow and campaign. From you we need the catalogue, planned promotions, the brand's tone and product photos. Before a flow goes live or a campaign is sent, you see it and approve it.

Is there a minimum term?

No. The contract runs in quarters that renew, and you can leave with 30 days' notice. The €800 setup is paid once. Since the basic flows bring in revenue from the first few weeks, within the first quarter you already have data to decide.
