IAutodoc: a pre-launch funnel up and running in 30 days

IAutodoc is software for generating documents. Its CEO, Josafat, came to BlueGrow asking for a quote for a Facebook Ads campaign. We suggested starting with a pre-launch built on a landing page, a downloadable demo, automated nurturing, lead segmentation and a sales sequence. In this SaaS funnel case study we explain what we built and in what order. Within 30 days, the funnel was up and running.

Case summary

  • Client: IAutodoc, document software (SaaS).
  • Contact: Josafat, CEO.
  • Original request: a quote for a Facebook Ads campaign.
  • What we built: a pre-launch with a landing page and downloadable demo, automated nurturing, hot and cold lead segmentation and a sales sequence.
  • Timeline: 30 days until the funnel was up and running.

Why we didn't start with sales ads

The software had a strong value proposition. What held it back lay elsewhere. It was a new product that the market hadn't yet had a chance to try. A cold sales ad asks someone to pay for something they don't know, and with a product like that, sales are very hard to close. So we proposed an earlier phase in which prospects could try the program before any talk of price. That phase also helped us refine how the product was presented.

Flight plan

What we built, in order

  1. Market research and strategy. We studied the market and mapped out the funnel: how to capture leads, how to warm them up and when to present the offer.
  2. Landing page with a downloadable demo. The demo of the program works as the lead magnet: to download it, visitors leave their details. Traffic came from digital advertising and from the automations.
  3. Automated nurturing. Anyone who downloads the demo enters an email automation with tips and recommendations for getting the most out of the program.
  4. Hot and cold lead segmentation. A set of conditions separates the people who show interest from those who don't show it yet.
  5. Sales sequence. Hot leads move into a second automation, focused on the sale.

The journey runs from the demo to nurturing and from nurturing to the sale, and a lead can reach the purchase by two paths.

When a pre-launch makes sense in B2B

If you sell software or a B2B service that your market doesn't know yet, it makes sense to let people try it before you ask them to pay. A demo, a free trial or a live session does that job. After that, nurturing and segmentation decide who gets the offer and who keeps seeing more of the product.

This is the kind of project we run in B2B marketing, for companies that sell through demos, quotes or calls. Automation and follow-up on every lead are part of our CRM and automation service. Our case studies page has other projects with figures.

What the client says

Josafat, CEO of IAutodoc, tells it like this (translated from Spanish):

“When I came to BlueGrow, I was asking for a sales campaign. But they proposed a much more convincing plan and offered to build a funnel from scratch so I could attract leads.”
